There are many name brands of lawn mowers, but only a few can compare to the capabilities of Husqvarna Lawn Mowers. Are Husqvarna trimmers any good? These trimmers definitely make lawn care easy! Let’s find out. First, let’s take a look at the specs.
Design: The pros are hard to beat when it comes to this section of the Husqvarna trimmer line. The biggest pro is the length. You get nearly three inches of reach. This means that you’ll be able to trim a lot more grass in a shorter amount of time. If you have shorter mower tires, or you just don’t like to spend hours trying to untangle tangled messes, this may be your best option.
Second, let’s look at the cutting width. As someone who cut my own weeds for over twenty years, I know that wide is better. When you’re dealing with long weeds, width is essential. This is the tool that will give you leverage and keep you from getting cut. Don’t waste your time and money on a trimmer head that won’t cut your grass short.
Cord Recharge: It has a unique rechargeable cord. Some cord trimmers have a recharge cord, but they’re not always comfortable to use, and sometimes they don’t work at all. With the cord recharged, you can easily move around your yard and keep working without any complaints. I would recommend the HVLP model over the electric models. The only complaint I have is that sometimes it takes a little longer to recharge.
Fast Start/Stop: Most cord trimmers come with a start/stop feature. However, the Husqvarna model includes an easy to use, two-cycle engine that works great for trimming and cutting. While it’s a little more complex than the cord-based start/stop, it’s still easier than most other start/stop models on the market.
Durability: A major consideration for many people is durability. Husqvarna’s cutting radius is eight feet, so this isn’t something to worry about too much. While this is better than most brands’ range, it’s still not a tremendous deal. The biggest complaint I have is that it doesn’t hold up as well to heavy usage. After using the Husqvarna for several years, I’ve finally had to replace the cutting blade. While it held up for a few years, it quickly began to show signs of wear.
Quality of Workmanship: The workmanship on most cord trimmers is excellent. They’re made of high quality materials such as carbon fiber and aluminum. These materials are very durable and can withstand constant use over many years. The cutting blades themselves are also quite sturdy, which is always an important factor. If you’re considering one of these cutters, the Husqvarna is definitely worth looking into.
Overall, the Husqvarna String Trimmer really does live up to all of the pros’ hype. It’s strong, durable, and versatile enough to handle anything that may come at it. If you’re looking for a good, sturdy trimmer that can handle the most usage over two years, the Husqvarna would be my top choice.
Price: While it’s advertised as a “value minded” trimmer, I actually found it to be a bit more expensive than I was expecting. It may be because I already owned a few other Husqvarna string trimmers, so I figured I’d compare them with the Husqvarna instead of with others. If you’re looking to save money, you may find this trimmer is not your best solution. Because of the curved-shaft design, it can be harder to get a clean cut with other brands.
Durability: With a lifetime guarantee, I was expecting durability that would last a long while. While the metal frame is quite strong, it’s not as thick as some of the other brands on the market. That may be alright for some, but if you have thick grass or weeds that are very thick, you won’t have as much help with getting the trimmer through those sections.
Diameters: The diameter does affect durability, but it’s not the biggest factor. The bigger the diameter, the more the shaft is going to weigh. This isn’t a big deal with a string trimmer trimmer as you can always attach a weight at the end so it only cuts through the grass. For heavier applications, the larger the diameter of the shaft is better. The best combination is still a good diameter and a good length.
Cutting efficiency: Husqvarna recommends cutting efficiencies of up to 47%. The manufacturer recommends cutting through weeds and grass using a spinning blade, but you can also use a manual blade if you prefer. The reason the cutting efficiency rating is high is because the Husqvarna string trimmer is designed to do its best work when cutting heavy coverage. When you’re just starting out, it’s a good idea to try different models on the same set of weeds to see which cuts more efficiently. You should also consider how difficult it is to use the cutting tools and string trimmers. For example, a good lawn mower is easy to use and doesn’t require much effort, but cutting heavy coverages with a spinning blade can be a bit more difficult.
